We are standing in a charged moment of history. Since the war that began on Shemini Atzeret, October 7, 2023, we have felt an ache that words can barely hold. But within the pain, a mystery has opened: a direct line between Shimshon and Aza (Gaza)—between then and now—and a Tikun we can choose to step into, together.

Listen to the Torah’s scene that frames our generation:

Shoftim (Judges) 16:1–2 — English:
“And Samson went to Gaza and saw there a harlot, and he came to her.
[It was told] to the Gazites, saying, ‘Samson has come here.’ And they encircled [him] and lay in wait for him all the night at the city gate, and they kept silent all the night, saying, ‘Until the morning light, then we will kill him.’”

This is not just ancient memory—it’s a mirror. Gaza then. Gaza now.
And within this mirror is a code that has resurfaced in our time: the name שִׁמְשׁוֹן (Shimshon) carries the gematria 696. As we approach the 696th day of this war, a powerful remez comes into focus: Shimshon’s unfinished work is calling us. Not to copy his path, but to complete his Tikun the way the Torah and our mesorah teach—through kedusha, tefila, Torah, unity, and the sanctification of Hashem’s Name.

I want to share with you a path—drawn from Torah, Midrash, Zoharic hints, and the deep language of names and numbers—that ties our moment to Shimshon’s destiny. We will uncover:

The hidden Mem (מ)—the cosmic key entrusted to Shimshon and destined for all Israel.

How Gaza became the stage of his struggle—and why its gates, pillars, and shadows matter right now.

The bridge from individual strength to collective redemption: from משיח = 358 to מישראל = 581.

And how the pairing of שָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה—Shimshon and Nachshon—plants the seeds of Geula.

This is a call to action. A Tikun we can all join—in our hearts, our tefilot, our deeds—to tilt the world toward Geula Sheleima.

If Shimshon’s life and death in Gaza is a mirror for our own time, then we must ask: what was the secret of his strength? Was it his muscles? Was it his hair? Or was it something far deeper — a hidden spiritual code, a Name known only in whispers… a Name that carries the power of redemption itself?"

Reveal of the hidden Name – שון
"In the Torah, when the tribe of Gershon is counted, it says:

‘Lift up the head of the sons of Gershon also…’

Why does the Torah use almost identical words to those used for Kehat? The secret is hidden in the word נָשֹׂא — ‘to lift up.’ After Shavuot, after the Omer has been counted, the head of the soul is lifted toward Keter, the highest crown.

But here the Torah conceals a Name. Inside the words of Gershon is a hidden seal: שון. A double concealment, a supernal level that is only revealed for a moment and then hidden again. Shimshon — שִׁמְשׁוֹן — carried this Name within him. His essence was not just sun and strength; it was שון, a key to redemption."

Connection to פישון (Pishon)
"This hidden Name is connected to the first of the four rivers in Eden — פישון, whose gematria is 446, the same as מִשְׁפָּט טוֹב (‘good judgment’).

And what do we learn? That the Tikun of Shimshon comes not through brute force, but through the mouth — פי — through prayer, through words, through calling upon Hashem.

That is why this Tikun is for us today: to take the hidden Name שון and turn it into living tefillah, to ask Hashem to bring the גאולה שלמה."

Temporary dwelling of the power
"But here lies a warning. The power of שון does not dwell permanently in this world. It is a spark that descends and ascends, appearing only when kedusha is preserved.

See that the gematria of the words בני גרשון equal 621, which is  620, the number of כתר — Crown. With the kolel of one, exactly the value of Hashem’s declaration:

‘For I, Hashem, sanctify you.’

The gift of שון — the gift given to Shimshon — is sanctity. But if that sanctity is broken, the gift departs."

"So what do we see in these hidden names and numbers? That Shimshon was not merely a man of great strength. He was a Nazir from the womb, separated to carry a fleeting but potent spark of Keter. The river פישון whispered that his strength flowed not from sinews, but from speech, from covenant, from kedusha.

And yet, because the power was only temporary, the danger was always near. The secret Name שון had to be guarded. The Nazir had to remain holy. Otherwise, the gates of Gaza would close upon him.

This is the Tikun we face today: to take up the hidden Name, to elevate our mouths in prayer, to sanctify our lives so that the power of Keter does not flee, but dwells among us to bring the Geula Sheleima."

The concealed Name

"In Tehillim it is written:

‘My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, and in My Name his horn shall be exalted.’

Here lie three hidden secrets:

וְחַסְדִּי – mercy, gematria 88, the same as גם הם, the words tied to בני גרשון.

וּבִשְׁמִי – ‘in My Name,’ gematria 358, the number of משיח.

קַרְנוֹ – ‘his horn,’ gematria 356, the same as the concealed Name שון.

The verse itself is revealing that the horn of Mashiach, the exaltation of David, rises precisely through this hidden Name."

The Horn of David

"King David himself sang:

‘God is my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my fortress and my savior, who saves me from violence.’

The קרן — the horn — of David is the mystery of יִשְׁעִי, my salvation. And what is its gematria? 390 — the same as שמן, the anointing oil poured from the קרן upon the head of David.

But hidden inside the word יִשְׁעִי is also the name ישי, Jesse, father of David, plus the letter ע — the seventy Elders of Israel. In other words, redemption is not an individual act. It requires the collective, the seventy souls, the seventy nations rectified through the seventy Elders."

Dan as דין — fighting the נחש

"Now we must return to the root: the tribe of Dan. Yaakov blessed his son Dan, saying:

‘Dan shall be a serpent by the road…’

Dan represents דין — strict judgment. He contends with the נחש, the primordial serpent. How? By fighting fire with fire — but with a fire even greater. The דין of Dan is not cruelty, but uncompromising צדק ומשפט. Through this, he subdues the serpent, extracts the sparks of holiness, and reveals the Mashiach hidden within."

The name of Shimshon

"And now we see why the wife of Manoach named her son Shimshon — שמשון. His very name can be read as שם–שון — the Name שון.

But there is a hidden danger: if the Nazirship is broken, if the Kedusha is lost, the שון collapses back into exile, and the strength departs. That is why his entire life was a struggle between concealment and revelation."

The joy of Nachshon and Shimshon

"And here lies a final secret of this section. Shimshon’s essence was ששון — joy that comes from intimacy with the Shechinah. But there was another great man, Nachshon ben Amminadav, ancestor of David, whose essence was שמחה.

Together they form the eternal pair: ששון ושמחה. Joy doubled, joy complete. And both their names contain the letters נח and חן — rest and grace.

Shimshon, who fought in Gaza, and Nachshon, who leapt first into the sea, are bound together as the forerunners of Mashiach."

"So what do we see?

The חסדי ה׳, the horn of David, the דין of Dan, the joy of Shimshon, the leap of Nachshon — all of these threads are converging in our time. The hidden sparks are ready to ignite. And once again, the battlefront is Gaza.

But this time, it is not just about Shimshon. It is about the collective Israel, מישראל, who must carry the holy Mem and bring the Geula Sheleima."

Shimshon bore the hidden Name שון, how Dan embodied דין, and how Nachshon carried שמחה. Now we approach the climax — Shimshon’s final acts in Gaza, the mystery of the pillars, his last prayer, and his identity as a suffering redeemer."

The Pillars of Gaza

"In Shoftim, as Shimshon stood blind and mocked, he was brought into the great hall of Gaza, where three thousand men and women mocked him.

‘And Shimshon said to the lad who held his hand, Let me feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean upon them.’

These two pillars represent the dual supports of creation — חסד on the right, דין on the left. Shimshon, blinded, could no longer see. But he could feel. In the darkness, he embraced the very structure of existence. His death would shake not only Gaza, but the cosmic balance itself."

Shimshon’s Prayer

"And then, Shimshon cried out:

‘And Shimshon called to Hashem and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray, and strengthen me, I pray, only this once, O God…’

This was not just a cry for revenge. It was a cry of mesirut nefesh — self-sacrifice. Shimshon asked for strength not to live, but to die in a way that would bring salvation. His life began as a Nazir from the womb, and ended as a korban — a living offering for Israel."

Death and Victory Together

"And so, Shimshon said:

‘Let my soul die with the Philistines.’

In that moment, his fall became greater than his life. The building collapsed, and more were slain in his death than in all his battles before.

What is the mystery here? That sometimes the seed of redemption must first fall into the ground and die before it brings new life. This is the secret of Mashiach ben Yosef, the redeemer who suffers, whose pain becomes the channel for the final redemption."

Shimshon as Mashiach ben Yosef

"Chazal teach that there are two Messianic figures: Mashiach ben Yosef and Mashiach ben David. Yosef, like Shimshon, was separated from his brothers, misunderstood, and suffered in exile.

Shimshon too was a solitary figure, betrayed, blinded, mocked, yet his suffering carried Israel forward. He is a prototype of Mashiach ben Yosef — the redeemer who must suffer before the final glory of David can rise."

Dan and Yosef — North and West Gates

"And why Dan? Why did salvation begin with him?

Yaakov’s blessing placed Dan at the northern frontier, Yosef at the western gate. Together they form the two outer edges of Israel, the places of greatest danger, but also of greatest redemption.

Dan — strict justice. Yosef — hidden providence. When the two are united, the forces of Amalek, Edom, and the פלישתים collapse.

Thus, Shimshon of Dan and Yosef’s line are bound together in the mystery of Mashiach. One begins the battle, the other completes it."

Closing this Movement:
"So what do we learn from Gaza’s pillars, from Shimshon’s prayer, from his death and victory? That redemption does not always come in triumph at first. Sometimes it comes through sacrifice, through suffering, through the breaking of the pillars of exile itself.

Shimshon was the forerunner — blinded yet seeing, broken yet whole, dead yet victorious. He began to save Israel, but the completion is left for us, for Mashiach ben Yosef, and finally for Mashiach ben David."

"We now come to the last movement — the prophetic mysteries hidden in gematria, in Zohar, and in the very words of Shimshon himself. These are not just ancient secrets. They are signs unfolding before our eyes in this very war, in these very days."

Zoharic Prophecy – Gaza and the Seventy Nations

"The Zohar says that before the final redemption, the nations will gather against Jerusalem, and the great spiritual wars will ignite in all four directions. Gaza — עזה — becomes a focal point of this prophecy, just as it was in Shimshon’s day.

Shimshon began to deliver Israel from the Philistines, but did not complete it. The Zohar tells us: the final battles will again begin at Gaza. This is why on שמיני עצרת 5784, the war burst forth from Gaza — the mirror of Shimshon’s downfall now becoming the place of Israel’s rising."

Gematria Mysteries – Numbers that Encode Redemption

"Let us look deeper at the numbers.

The words וְהוּא יָחֵל לְהוֹשִׁיעַ אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל מִיַּד פְּלִשְׁתִּים— ‘and he began to save Israel from the hand of the Pelishtim" — equal 2343, the same as לְהָקִים אֶת שִׁבְטֵי יַעֲקֹב וּנְצִירֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְהָשִׁיב — ‘to raise up the tribes of Jacob and restore the preserved of Israel.’

Shimshon’s beginning is tied directly to the prophetic end — the raising of the tribes, the restoration of the remnant.

Another mystery:
equals 1429. This number is composed of 1 — the unity of Hashem, and 429 — the gematria of משפט, Judgment.

Thus see these last words of Shimshon:
The exact gematria equals 429,
This shows us that redemption comes when justice, both sweet and bitter, has run its course, from the beginning until it's end cycle!

And perhaps the most striking: Shimshon’s own words in his last prayer, אַחַת מִשְּׁתֵי עֵינַי מִפְּלִשְׁתִּים — ‘for one of my two eyes from the Philistines’ — in Reverse AvGad gematria equals 2023 — the very Gregorian year when this war from Gaza began. Coincidence? Or Hashem’s fingerprint in history?"

The Collapse of Gaza – A Cosmic Foreshadow

"When Shimshon pulled down the pillars, Gaza’s great house collapsed. The text says:

‘So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those he killed in his life.’

This collapse was not just military victory. It was a cosmic sign: that exile, oppression, and the mocking laughter of the nations will fall in one sudden moment of reversal.

What began with Shimshon will end in our days. Gaza’s collapse is not only political. It is the foreshadowing of the collapse of every false empire that mocks Israel and defies Hashem."

The Role of Israel and the Nations

"But here lies the test. Israel’s role is not only to survive. It is to sanctify the Name of Hashem, to gather in holiness, to repair the world.

The nations too have a choice: Will they stand with Israel, blessing the covenant, or will they rage against Hashem and fall with the Philistines?

As the verse says:

‘In the heavens You are faithful forever.’

This is the dividing line. Faithful or mocking.  Every nation and every soul is being sifted."

The Final Tikun – Shimshon’s Fall as Seed of Redemption

"And now we return full circle. Shimshon, whose name carries שון — the hidden joy. Shimshon, son of Manoach, whose very father’s name concealed the מ that would one day transform Samael into Sael. Shimshon, whose downfall in Gaza was not the end, but the seed.

His two eyes: one avenged in his lifetime, the other reserved for the end of days. His strength: withdrawn when his Nazirship was broken, but restored in his death to show that holiness, even lost, can return in an instant of teshuvah.

And above all: his cry — זָכְרֵנִי נָא — ‘remember me now.’ That cry still echoes in the heavens. It is not only Shimshon’s prayer. It is Israel’s prayer today.

Remember us, Hashem. Strengthen us now. Let us pull down the pillars of exile, of Hamas, of Edom, of every mocking empire. Let this be the last war. Let Shimshon’s unfinished task be completed in our days, with Mashiach ben Yosef rising, and Mashiach ben David reigning, and the Shechinah dwelling once more in Zion."

In Closing:
This is not just history. This is not just gematria. This is a living prophecy unfolding before us. The 696th day of this war approaches. We are being called to join the Tikun — through tefillah, through holiness, through unity.

Just as Shimshon’s power flowed through sanctity, so too ours. If we guard the covenant, if we lift our voices in prayer, if we stand with Israel and sanctify Hashem’s Name — then we will see the pillars fall, and the final Geula rise."

Translation:
Master of the Universe,
Reveal to us the holy secret of the letter Mem,
which was entrusted for a short time to Shimshon,
and which lies hidden in the name Samael,
to be transformed into Sael,
to reveal that all his work was only for the service of holiness.

May it be Your will, Hashem our G-d and G-d of our fathers,
to remove concealment from us,
and to place in our hearts strength and faith
to fulfill all that is decreed upon us in love.

Break all the forces of darkness,
turn all our judgments to goodness,
for You are the true Judge,
and You are the One who restores Your Shechinah to Zion.

And in the merit of Shimshon,
who was a Nazirite to G-d from the womb,
and in the merit of all the righteous and the prophets,
bring quickly the Mashiach —
son of David, son of Yosef, son of Dan, and son of Aharon —
to redeem us with a complete redemption, speedily in our days, Amen.

Translation:
Hashem, I will sing of Your kindness forever.
Reveal to us the hidden Name, Shon,
and lift up our horn in Your salvation.
As Shimshon shattered the gates of Gaza,
so too open for us the gates of the Complete Redemption.

Prayer

Translation:
Hashem, faithful G-d,
just as You revealed light within darkness,
so too reveal Your light within our weakness.
Do not deliver us into the hand of Delilah,
but instead raise within us the strength of self-sacrifice,
so that the light of the Complete Redemption may be revealed.

Prayer

Translation:
Hashem, hidden King,
though our vision has been concealed,
do not withhold Your faithfulness and mercy from us.
Reveal to us the Name through which our horn shall be exalted,
and while the world grows darker,
unite us in the Name of Shema Yisrael.

Prayer

Translation:
Hashem of Israel,
though we have seemed like Shimshon grinding in the house of the Philistines,
reveal to us the hidden oil of anointing,
and raise up the horn of our salvation,
speedily in our days,
together with Mashiach, the son of David, Your servant.

Prayer

Translation:
Hashem,
let not our enemies rejoice in our downfall.
Turn the disgrace of Your people into honor.
Reveal to us the holy power of judgment in the tribe of Dan,
and bring down the serpent at the feast of the nations.

Master of the Universe,
reveal to us the hidden secret in Dan and in Chushim.
Turn judgment into Mashiach, the serpent into redemption.
Just as the pillars of Gaza fell in the days of Shimshon,
so too shall the pillars of the klippah fall in the days of the complete redemption.

Prayer

Translation:
Hashem, my G-d,
remember us now and strengthen us now,
just as Shimshon cried out in Gaza.
Grant us the power to bring down the pillars of the klippah,
and to raise up in the holy world —
the Kingdom of Shaddai, the Kingdom of David,
the Kingdom of Mashiach.

Prayer

Prayer for the Preserved of Israel

Translation:
Hashem, G-d of Israel,
Keeper of the covenant and the kindness,
the One who delivers the remnant of His people,

remember now the faithful word:
"And he will begin to save Israel from the hand of the Philistines."

Just as Shimshon began to save,
so may You complete the salvation through Your anointed ones,
the son of Yosef and the son of David,
that the two olive trees may stand by the Menorah of Israel.

Raise up now the tribes of Yaakov,
and restore the preserved of Israel,
those who have guarded Your ways in exile
and have not turned away from their G-d.

Cause the voices of false songs to vanish,
and in Your holy Name may the horn of Your Mashiach be exalted.

With holy song we will sing again in Zion,
a new song to Hashem,
a song of complete redemption.

For You are our salvation and our shield,
and in Your Name we shall be lifted up and exalted forever.

Amen.

Prayer–Meditation for the Secret of 1429

Translation:
Master of the Universe,
You are the One, and there is none besides You — the Champion of the world,
the Judge of all Justice, both good and severe,
for in truth all judgment is only good, flowing from the One Source.

Reveal to us the secret within the number 1429:
You are the One (1),
You rule over Judgment (429),
You establish the kingship of David (14),
and You bestow upon us Kindness and Truth.

May it be Your will, Hashem our G-d and G-d of our fathers,
that You sweeten all judgments,
that You transform every harsh judgment into good judgment,
and that You exalt the horn of Your anointed one —
as it is written:
“And through My Name shall his horn be exalted” (Tehillim 89:25).

May David and his son, the Mashiach,
be heard and beloved throughout all Israel and Yehudah,
as it is written:
“And all Israel and Yehudah loved David, because he would go out and come in before them” (Shmuel I 18:16).

And may we be filled in these days with the binding of Kindness and Truth,
as it is written:
“And deal kindly and truly with me” (Bereishit 47:29),
so that the world will be prepared for the Kingship of David and for the Complete Redemption.

Blessed are You, Hashem,
Shield of David and the One who raises a horn of salvation for His people Israel.

Translation:
Master of the Universe, Exalted G-d, King of Kings,
we are Your children and Your people — the seventy souls who went down to Egypt, from whom the seventy nations emerged.

By the power of the secret hidden in the number seventy,
we ask before You:
return us and all the world to the holy roots of creation.

By the power of the secret in the number 1449,
A Song of Ascents: When Hashem restored the return to Zion, we were like dreamers —
awaken us from the long dream of exile,
and restore to us Your holy Shabbat.

By the power of the secret in the number 449,
the prayer of Moshe Rabbeinu: O G-d, please heal her now —
please heal us, Israel, and the entire world.
Rebuild the Sanctuary immediately, and break down every barrier.

By the power of the secret in the number 412,
quickly reveal the Four Meshichim:

Mashiach ben Dan – to break the power of the serpent.

Mashiach ben Yosef – to prepare the way in the wars of Hashem.

Mashiach ben David – to reign over the entire world with righteousness.

Mashiach ben Aharon – to renew the priesthood and the service in the Temple.

Our Father, our King,
strengthen our horn through Your salvation,
and in our days bring the building of the Third Temple,
for the honor of Your great and awesome Name,
and to restore Shabbat and peace to the entire world.

Amen. Selah.

Tefilah for – The Cry of Shimshon’s Eyes

Translation:
Master of the Universe, You who remember the covenant and take vengeance upon the enemies of Your people,
remember the tears of Shimshon and his eyes that were torn out in darkness.

One eye was avenged in Gaza through his death,
but the second eye was preserved for the End of Days.

Now, O Hashem, raise up the son of Dan — Mashiach ben Dan —
to destroy the spirit of Hamas,
to uproot cruelty,
and to redeem the honor of Israel.

As the Pelishtim fell in Shimshon’s time,
so let the Pelishtim of today fall in Gaza,
so that Your great Name will be sanctified forever,
and Israel will be lifted in glory.

Amen. Selah.

Prayer

Translation:
Master of the Universe, You, who remember all that is forgotten, and uphold every covenant,
remember us now as Shimshon cried in Gaza and said:
"Remember me, I pray, and strengthen me only this once, O G-d."

Complete the Tikun that he began,
and by the merit of the one eye he avenged in his lifetime,
fulfill now the Tikun of the second eye —
the one reserved for the days of redemption.

May the verse be fulfilled in us:
"For You are the G-d of my stronghold; why have You forsaken me?
Why should I walk in gloom, oppressed by the enemy?" (Tehillim 43:2)
— and from this we understand that redemption will spring forth
from Gaza, sanctifying Your Name in the world.

Remember that there Gaza was first mentioned in Torah (Bereishit 10:19),
and there too Shimshon’s life ended in might,
to hint that the beginning and the end meet
within the borders where holiness and impurity clash.

Guard our hearts, as it is written:
"Above all that you guard, guard your heart,
for from it flow the wellsprings of life." (Mishlei 4:23)
Give us whole hearts, enlightened eyes,
and preserve the remnant of Israel
to be witnesses to the light of Mashiach.

And on the day when You silence false songs
and bring down the pride of the nations (Yechezkel 28:5),
lift up our horn in Your salvation,
and let the world know that Yours is the power and Yours the kingship.
